The GPAJ Refugee Crisis Research Group addressed the current grave situation of displaced persons worldwide in a panel session on “Forgotten Refugees,” noting, as one example, the causes and effects of the conflict between the Pakistani government and pro-Taliban militants in northwest Pakistan and the internally displaced persons who have been forced to flee. The group also referred to the situation of internally displaced persons in Myanmar and discussed Myanmar displaced persons in Thailand, the importance of gender norms, and the impact of conflict on women’s rights.
